Views
Views give you configurable, tabular perspectives on your project data. Where boards show cards visually on a Kanban, views let you filter, sort, and organise data in a structured list format.
What views show
Section titled “What views show”A view is based on a view template, which defines the entity type being shown (cards, pages, users, etc.) and the available columns. You can configure:
- Which columns are visible — show only the fields relevant to your current context
- Sorting — order rows by any sortable column
- Filtering — narrow results by one or more criteria
Saving a view
Section titled “Saving a view”Once you’ve configured a view to your liking, save it with a name. Saved views are accessible from the Views section of the navigation and can be shared with the project team.
Renaming and deleting views
Section titled “Renaming and deleting views”Saved views can be renamed or deleted at any time from the Views section. Deleting a view does not affect the underlying data — it only removes the saved configuration.
When to use views vs boards
Section titled “When to use views vs boards”| Use case | Best tool |
|---|---|
| Visual status tracking, moving cards between stages | Board |
| List-based reporting, filtering by multiple criteria | View |
| Exporting or reviewing data in bulk | View |
| At-a-glance progress overview | Board |
Views and boards complement each other. Many teams use boards day-to-day for status tracking and views for reporting and planning reviews.
