Board Sources
A board source defines which project’s cards appear on a board and which card types from that project are included.
Adding a source
Section titled “Adding a source”In Board Settings, add one or more source projects. For each source, select:
- Project — the Vanillaround project to pull cards from
- Card types — which card types from that project to include on this board
Only cards of the selected types from the selected project will appear on the board.
Multiple sources
Section titled “Multiple sources”A single board can have multiple sources. This allows you to track cards from several projects on one board — for example, a cross-project delivery board that shows all active Requirement cards across three client projects simultaneously.
Removing a source
Section titled “Removing a source”Removing a source from a board hides its cards from the board view. The cards themselves are unchanged — they still exist in their spec pages and retain all their approval state and metadata.
When sources are useful
Section titled “When sources are useful”Single-project boards — the most common setup. One board, one source, all card types (or a filtered subset). Good for a team working on one project at a time.
Multi-project boards — useful for managers overseeing several workstreams. One board aggregates the status of all active work across projects.
Filtered boards — add the same project as a source but select only one card type. Useful for a “Requirement approvals” board that only shows cards going through the formal sign-off process, separate from Basic or Simple cards.
