Board Columns
Columns define the stages or statuses on a board. Cards are placed in columns and can be moved between them as work progresses.
Creating columns
Section titled “Creating columns”When creating or editing a board, add columns in Board Settings. Each column has:
- Name — the label displayed on the board (e.g. “In Spec”, “Awaiting Approval”, “Done”)
- Order — the left-to-right position on the board
- Default column — new cards added to the board land here automatically if checked
Reordering columns
Section titled “Reordering columns”Drag columns left or right in Board Settings to change their order. The change is reflected on the board immediately.
Hiding columns
Section titled “Hiding columns”Columns can be hidden without deleting them. A hidden column’s cards still exist on the board but are not visible in the default view. Use this to temporarily de-clutter the board without losing card placement history.
Deleting a column
Section titled “Deleting a column”Deleting a column removes it and returns any cards in it to an unassigned state on the board. They remain visible as cards in the spec pages — board placement is separate from the card itself.
Default column
Section titled “Default column”Marking a column as the default means any new card added to the board (or any card whose source project is connected to this board) will initially appear in that column. You can move cards to other columns once they’re on the board.
